The Musée Sahut is located in the Bosredon estate and château in Volvic; the estate and château have housed the museum since 1988. The Musée Sahut comprises three exhibition levels dedicated to stone art, the 20th century and the 19th century.

The Church of Saint-Priest in Volvic is a Cluniac church and is classified as a historic monument. It features a typically Auvergne Romanesque apse, a 12th-century grille and three radially arranged chapels; the church also contains two Carolingian stone slabs.

The exhibition “De Mortelèque à Michelin – Un siècle d’émaillage sur lave” at the Musée Sahut traces the first hundred years of enamelling on lava – from Mortelèque’s first known work dating from 1827 to the approval of Michelin road signs in 1931.

The Grotte de la Pierre de Volvic was used from the 13th century onwards because of its Volvic stone. It was excavated in the lava flow of the La Nugère volcano and is considered an emblematic site of the Chaîne des Puys.

Traces de Pierre is a collective based in Volvic that brings together sculptors, stonemasons, designers and artisans. The Maison de l'Artisanat Les Arts de la Pierre in Volvic presents enamelled lava works, stonework, sculptures and engravings in an exhibition and sales space. Traces de Pierre’s communal workshop provides the public with training in stonework and offers introductory courses in stonework.

Trails

The Sentier du Docteur Moity leads to the crater of the La Nugère volcano; the marked trail is 7 km long and takes 2 hours. Le tour du puy de la bannière starts at the Sources de Volvic, passes the Grotte de la Pierre de Volvic and climbs towards Notre Dame de la Garde.
