Antoingt: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

The Église Saint-Gal in Antoingt is of Romanesque origin and was formerly fortified. Its octagonal bell tower is crowned by an openwork spire made of multicoloured tiles. Inside, a baptismal font serves as a holy water basin; a capital featuring sirens is also visible.

Next to the Église Saint-Gal in Antoingt are the Bancs de la « loue ». They were a place where workers gathered for agricultural work.

The Château du Pantier, also known as Montpentier, is located at the summit of a volcanic promontory. It is a privately owned fortified house from the late Middle Ages, dating from the 14th to the 15th century.

The Fontaine Place de la Fontaine in Antoingt is made of Volvic stone. Water flows into the basin through two gargoyles with human heads. The fountain has been restored and returned to its original function as a water reservoir.

Cycle route no. 10 “Chapelles et églises remarquables” offers views of the Sancy Massif, Livradois and the Chaîne des Puys. The “Vodable et Colamine” hiking trail leads in Antoingt to the Place de la Fontaine.
