Saint-Georges-Lagricol combines the Église Saint-Georges and the Chapelle Saint-François-Régis with the Volcan de Mons. The Volcan de Mons reaches an altitude of 963 metres and offers views of the Monts du Forez and Livradois.
Culture
The oldest part of the Église Saint-Georges dates from the 11th to the 12th century; reused Gallo-Roman sculptures were incorporated into its walls. The church was remodelled in the 15th and 17th centuries. This created a bell-tower porch considered unique in the Velay region.
The Chapelle Saint-François-Régis was built at the beginning of the 18th century on the site of an older Calvary. In the hamlet of Suc, it contains well-preserved frescoes from the early 19th century.
On the route from Saint-Georges-Lagricol to Le Cros, the Chemin de César is known as a “voie de Compostelle” and is marked with scallop-shell symbols.
Nature
The Arboretum du Garay de la Dame contains 550 trees and shrubs from 70 species across an area of 7,000 square metres. It can be visited freely and independently throughout the year.

The PR143 circular hiking route, “Le suc de Mons”, is 12.6 kilometres long and starts and ends in Saint-Georges-Lagricol. The PR142, “Le four à pain de Fraisse”, is a difficult 16.6-kilometre hiking route.
