The PR702 La Durande et le Marais de Limagne hiking trail is a difficult 15.0 km route with a duration of 3 hours and 45 minutes. The route runs along the Marais de Limagne, a Natura 2000 wetland and peat bog. The extensive peat bog lies below the three peaks of Suc de Combret, La Durande and La Veysseyre and is home to numerous protected species.

The mountains Mont Chau, Suc de Combret, La Durande and La Vesseyre are located in the vicinity of Saint-Bérain. Another hiking trail at Suc de Combret and La Durande passes a pozzolan quarry at Suc de Combret. The trail also includes the land art installation “Racines en dentelles” by Francine Garnier and Alain Engelaere, which was installed as part of the “Echo, Street & Land Art en Velay” project.

The Col de Peyra Taillade cycling route is a difficult 8.8 km round trip with 655 m of positive elevation gain. It passes through Saint-Bérain and runs between Saint-Julien-des-Chazes and Le Vernet. The route includes the steep Mur de Saint-Bérain section, with gradients of nearly 15 percent.

The church of Saint-Bérain dates back to the 12th century and was modified in the 15th, 16th and 19th centuries. The church offers a panoramic view over the Allier gorges.
