Lantriac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

Couteaux is a troglodytic village with caves created by human hands over several levels in an artificially exposed vertical rock face; they are not natural cavities. The site was inhabited throughout the Middle Ages and was used intermittently up to the present day. It can be explored via an easy one-hour round trip; information panels explain the geology and the use of the caves in the Middle Ages.
