Culture and history
The Church of Saint-Sulpice is located in the heart of the village of Cussac-sur-Loire. Its parish church houses a gilded and enamelled bronze statue of the crowned Christ. It was created in the 11th or possibly the 12th century and was placed under protection as a movable cultural object on 10 May 1976.
Traces, fossils and tools of the early troglodytic inhabitants were found in the caves below Malpas.
The existence of the Prieuré Saint-Blaise de Jonzac, also known as Gensac, has been documented since 1134. The surviving remains include a chapel from the late Romanesque period, whose history is connected with the adjoining Cluniac priory. The Prieuré Saint-Blaise de Jonzac is partially open to visitors; information about visiting it is available from the Mairie of Cussac-sur-Loire.

The Ancien Prieuré Sainte-Catherine, a monastery, is located in the immediate vicinity of Cussac-sur-Loire. Also nearby are La Garde d’Ours, a mountain, the summit of Suc de Miceselle, and La Garde de Mons, a mountain.
