Laveissière: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The commune of Laveissière is home to the Station du Lioran ski resort. It has 60 kilometres of ski slopes; its cable car provides access to the Plomb du Cantal.

Nature

Laveissière is part of the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne and the Grand Site de France du Puy Mary - Volcan du Cantal. The Alagnon rises at Font d'Alagnon in the heights above Laveissière. In the area around Laveissière, the Alagnon is designated as a Natura 2000 site.

In the Gorges de l'Alagnon, a path created by volunteers runs across six footbridges. Access is from Fraisse-Haut in the direction of Buron de Belles Aigues; after 700 metres, the path is signposted on the right.

Fishing for trout and carp is possible at the Plan d'eau de Laveissière.

Culture and trails

The Moulin de Chambeuil is freely accessible. The Église Saint-Louis was built in 1866 and is characterised by its uniform neo-Gothic design.

A marked hiking trail follows the stream from the Moulin de Chambeuil to the waterfall. Another marked hiking trail leads from Laveissière to Roche Percée.

Activities

The Bike Park du Lioran has 11 downhill runs spread across two sectors. The black Le Volcan Est VTTAE loop can be started in Laveissière.
