Hauterive showcases its history through prominent buildings. Today’s Saint-Louis Church replaced Saint-Pierre Church and was built between 1863 and 1867 in the neo-Gothic style. After his visit to Vichy in 1862, Napoleon III provided 18,000 francs for the construction of Saint-Louis Church.
The Château des Cours includes the Tour du Château des Cours, a former fortified entrance to the Château des Cours in the Gothic style. During the occupation, the Château des Cours in Hauterive housed the central interception centre of the Groupement des Contrôles radioélectriques.
