Events

History

The Church of Saint-Maurice is a 12th-century building with a 14th-century fortified tower featuring machicolations, as well as additions from the 19th century. The former Maison forte de Bellechassagne still has a fortified tower with six loopholes and openings for culverins.

The Motte féodale du Plaix is a wooded feudal motte dating from the 10th to 11th century and belonged to the former Château de Bellechassagne. It still preserves bricks and stones; a broad enclosure was intended to complete the defensive system, and further circular ditches survive in the forest as remnants of a protective system. The Château du Plaix was built in 1773 and still has a round outer tower that was converted into a chapel.

Culture

The church in Chamblet is open to visitors during the day from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A painting attributed to Jean Boucher was added to the supplementary inventory of historic monuments in 2002 and classified as a historic monument in 2009.
