In Bézenet, the remains of the Puy Sainte-Barbe mine are still visible. The church of Bézenet, dedicated to Saint Barbara, was built in 1888 on the site where the market was held.
Culture and History
The Sainte-Barbe shaft in Bézenet was sunk before 1867 and was used for coal extraction and water drainage in the mine. It is 435 metres deep and has a diameter of 4 metres. The Bézenet railway branch was mainly intended for transporting coal trains.

A GR long-distance hiking trail runs through Bézenet. The Étang de Bézenet is managed by the AAPPMA “La Bienvenue” fishing association. The AAPPMA provides a map of its fishing areas with GPS points.
