Montaut: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

An early detail in the history of the village is the Fontaine Bruquet: it was built in 1790 and includes a washhouse. From the Fontaine Bruquet, there is a view of the village and the mountains.

Culture

The Église Saint-Hilaire was built in 1540 and restored in 1971 and 2003. Its choir is a work of Béarnaise Flamboyant Gothic. It also contains four figurative stained-glass windows attributed to J. Goussard.

The Bastide de Montaut includes traditional Béarnaise farmhouses. Montaut is also home to the workshop and exhibition space of wood sculptor Christian Delacoux.

The Circuit vélo 4 takes cyclists to the Église Saint-Hilaire in the Bastide de Montaut. Loisirs Équestres la Ferme Couhet offers riding lessons on more than 150 km of trails in a natural setting.

Food and Drink

At Le Rucher du Mourle, visitors can observe the life of a bee colony in an observation hive. A tasting of various honeys hosted by the owner is also included.
