The parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Bidarray preserves parts of the original Romanesque building, including the choir, the apse with sculpted windows, and the entrance portal. In 1625, the nave was extended; at the same time, the transept and the bell gable were built.

Culture

The Pont Noblia bridge over the Nive dates back to the 14th century and is associated with a pilgrimage route that belonged to the abbey of Roncevaux. It has been listed as a historic monument since 16 December 2010. The trinquet in Bidarray was formerly a Jeu de Paume court.

Nature

The Chemin des contrebandiers is one of the hiking trails mentioned in Bidarray. The Harriondo hike starts in Bidarray’s village square. The hike across the Harriondo Massif offers views of the Baztan Valley and the entrance to the Nive des Aldudes valley. The stone ruins of cayolars along the Harriondo hiking route bear witness to the development of agro-pastoral practices.

From the Col de Lacho, hikers can observe numerous griffon vultures on the opposite cliffs of the Peñas de Itsusi.

Ur Bizia offers rafting on the Nive near Bidarray. Near Bidarray, Ur Bizia also offers hydrospeed, canoeing, and inflatable kayaking; the activities are accompanied by professional guides. Bidarray–Pont Noblia railway station is 0.5 km from the Ur Bizia base.
