Soorts-Hossegor combines a varied coastal landscape with nature observation, historic sites, regional markets and special places to enjoy oysters. Between the lake, beaches and protected habitats, the town reveals itself in many different facets.
Nature
Les Barthes is a rare and protected 50-hectare wetland ecosystem with numerous birds, insects, butterflies and lush flora. An accessible 3.7-kilometre promenade was also restored at Les Barthes.
The 99-hectare Lac marin d’Hossegor is home to marine plants, shellfish and crustaceans, fish and numerous bird species, and is designated a nature reserve. At Lac marin d’Hossegor, there is an approximately two-hour walk during which visitors can observe and identify seasonal bird species and learn about the ecology of the species found there.
The beaches in the vicinity of Soorts include Plage de la Gravière, Plage Centrale, Plage Nord and Plage Sud.
Culture
The Sporting Casino is a 1930s building and a symbol of the Art Deco style. Ferme de Bielle was built in the 14th century and preserved by the municipality to retain a typical example of a Landes farmhouse from that period.
