Culture and History
The Church of Notre-Dame de Laglorieuse was completely rebuilt in 1864. Its choir contains a gilded wooden altar in the style of Louis XIV. The furnishings also include a carved side door made of wood from the 17th century and a gilded wooden statue of Saint Amand inside.
The Château d’Arricaud was expanded and remodelled around 1650 from an old fortified house in the Landes. It preserves French-style ceilings, monumental fireplaces and a monumental staircase.
The Fontaine Saint-Guirons is located in a small wooded area and is dedicated to Saint Guirons. It is a pilgrimage site on Ascension Day. The Fête de l’Aubépine is also still celebrated in Laglorieuse; the associated procession took place on the first Sunday in May.
Paths and Landscape
The washhouse of Laglorieuse is located near a small stream that is a tributary of the Ludon.
A short walk from the centre of Laglorieuse leads to the Limac wetland and can be extended via paths in the village. The wetland can be reached by parking near the church and then following the signs to the site.
