Culture and history
Mortemart was a former commandery used by the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John of Jerusalem, and was also a stop along the Way of Saint James. The Eglise Saint-Jean et presbytère de Mortemart has been partially protected as a historic monument since 9 November 1984. The Romanesque Church of Saint-Félix-de-Reilhac is decorated with stained-glass windows and statues. The Eglise Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-Mortemart has a bell tower forming a gable wall and a truncated tower.
