The baptismal font from Minzac is located in the museum in Villefranche-de-Lonchat. It is protected as a movable historic monument; the protection designation dates from 27 December 1947.

Wine and Regional Tradition

Château La Plante is open year-round for tours and direct sales at the estate: in the mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and in the afternoons from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It produces red, rosé and sweet white Bergerac wine, as well as Montagne St Emilion. The estate is located on a hillside cultivated by Benedictine monks from the 12th to the 16th century.

The hiking route “Minzac, à cheval sur deux versants!” is easy, 4 km long and has an estimated duration of 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Pilgrimage and Springs

A custom handed down in Minzac involved young women ringing the bell all day during the pilgrimage to the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine des Brandes chapel on 24 July, as this was supposed to ensure that they would marry within a year.

The Fontaine Sainte-Marie-Madeleine des Brandes has a square basin and a pond filled with water. From the chapel, it can be reached through an underpass beneath the motorway; it is easier to get there from a grassy platform near the signpost for the chapel road. The fountain is connected to the Way of St. James via the Vézelay route.

The pilgrimage to Sainte Marie-Madeleine at Madeleine-des-Brandes near Moulin-Neuf was held annually. For this purpose, the faithful gathered to pray in the Landais forest between Moulin-Neuf and Minzac.
