The Menhir de Peyrecourt is a toppled megalithic monument associated with the early origins of Capdrot. It is made of sandstone, is linked to local legends, and was called “la man des diable”.

In the 13th century, the jurisdiction of the Collégiale de Capdrot extended over 68 parishes. From the 11th century onward, the Collégiale de Capdrot was a favored pilgrimage destination because of the Black Madonna venerated there. A papal decision elevated the church to a collegiate church in 1318.

From the 13th century onward, Capdrot was a stop on the Chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. The well of the collegiate church of Capdrot appears to date from Roman times and is associated with a water cult.

The Boucle de Buffarot starts in the bastide town of Monpazier and takes visitors to the collegiate church of Capdrot, with its paintings and well. The Boucle de Peyrecourt is an 18 km circular route.
