From the heights of Larzac, natural viewpoints offer views over the Nauze valley. In clear weather, the surrounding valleys, the Bessède forests and the hilltop village of the Pays de Belvès can be seen from the ridges.
Nature
The landscape can also be experienced on the Boucle des Viaducs. This is an 8-kilometre circular route starting in Larzac. The route is designated for walking, horse riding, mountain biking and cultural exploration.
The Boucle des Viaducs follows the Nauze. The river’s 17-kilometre course once included up to 33 mills. There is a car park for the circular route at the foot of the Sainte-Magdeleine church in Larzac.
Getting Around
Larzac is also offered as a destination for an independent village visit. Thus, alongside the circular route, the village itself is the focus as an independent part of the stay.
Culture
The Sainte-Magdeleine church was classified as a historic monument on 10 February 1913. Its single-nave body ends in a semicircular apse.
The Viaduc de Larzac spans the municipalities of Larzac and Belvès on the railway line from Niversac to Agen. The structure has 21 arches, each with an opening of 12 metres.
The former Moulin de l'Hôte is located along the Boucle des Viaducs and still has a water reservoir.
Zen retreats are offered at the Monastère du Pic Lumineux in the Dordogne. These include Zazen, manual work and communal meals several times a day.
