Culture and History

The Église Saint-Méard was registered as a historic monument by decree of 25 February 1974. Its western portal dates from the 16th century. The wooden market hall in Saint-Méard-de-Gurçon was built in 1837 and moved to the church in 1847.

Wine

Château Laulerie welcomes visitors to an 18th-century Périgord farmhouse to discover the wines of the Montravel appellation. The château produces and sells wines from the Bergerac, Montravel, Lalande de Pomerol, Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, Pécharmant and Crémant de Bordeaux appellations.

In the Périgord Pourpre, the Barde family manages, vinifies and markets a 60-hectare vineyard.

Geographical Location

The intersection of the D32 and D708 is located in Saint-Méard-de-Gurçon. This road connection links the north of the Dordogne département with the Garonne Valley. Since spring 2001, the village has been less than 10 kilometres from an access road to the A89.
