La Force: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de La Force was built in 1604 and demolished in 1793 to serve as a stone quarry. Today, only the central pavilion of the stables, the Pavillon des Recettes, remains of the former château complex.

History

The Temple de La Force was built in 1604 as part of the château constructed for Jacques Caumont, Duke of La Force. Despite a demolition order issued on 14 July 1679, the Temple was spared destruction. It was acquired by Protestants in 1806 and restored in 1821.

Culture

The Espace John et Eugénie Bost presents the history of John Bost and his wife Eugénie. The Espace is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

The covered Lavoir de La Force is fed by the Touron spring, which belongs to the neighbouring Fondation John Bost. The lavoir was probably an outbuilding of the château in the 17th century.

The tomb of the de LA VALETTE family is located in an enclosure surrounded by a wrought-iron grille.
