Jaure: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hiking and Nature

The Jaure hiking trail follows roads and paths through forests and along a stream. In addition, the long-distance hiking trail GR 654 crosses the municipality of Jaure from north to south over approximately 2.5 km.

In the Bois de l’Espèr, there is an educational nature trail for walkers, marked by five information panels. Under an ORE signed on 19 January 2024, this area is protected for 99 years exclusively for the preservation of biodiversity.

The Jaure picnic area is situated peacefully beside the small Jaurès stream; there are parking spaces nearby, and cars and motorhomes can be parked there.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Firmin was built in the 12th century and is open daily. Its interior walls are decorated with paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, and it also features both Romanesque and Gothic architecture. It was listed as a historic monument by decree of 9 November 1984.

The Château de Jaure can be seen from the road, but is not open to visitors. It was probably rebuilt in the 14th century and features two square towers, a battlement walk and a surrounding moat.

The municipality of Jaure received the dancing lime tree on 30 October 2011 from the Association Ariane. The dancing lime tree of Jaure is considered to be the first dancing lime tree planted in the south of France.
