Hiking and Landscape
The Gavaudun Valley, shaped by the Lède, features steep cliffs, wooded slopes, caves and natural shelters, as well as mills and forges. The circular route “Gavaudun, le chemin des moulins” passes six visible mills along the Lède. It is 9.8 km long and designated as a two-and-a-half-hour hike.

Nature
The Gavaudun Valley has been classified in its entirety as a natural site since 1999. The Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Écologique, Faunistique et Floristique (ZNIEFF), extending from Gavaudun to Saint-Avit, is home to bat populations; peregrine falcons and European eagle-owls breed in the cliffs.
