Le Buisson-De-Cadouin: holiday apartments and houses

Le Buisson-De-Cadouin: Cussac Cave combines cave art and human burials from the Gravettian period, dating back around 30,000 years. For conservation and safety reasons, it is not open to the public.

A weekly market takes place every Friday morning in Le Buisson.

Culture

An exhibition about Cussac Cave is designed as a freely accessible presentation of the cave’s archaeological wealth. It includes true-to-scale facsimiles of the discovery panel and Burial Locus 2.

The former abbey of Cadouin was founded in 1115; Géraud de Sales was involved in the construction of the first buildings. The abbey preserves its church, cloister and communal buildings. The cloister is a reconstruction in the late Gothic Flamboyant style dating from the late 15th century.

The historic walk through Cadouin uses information panels and a map available from the tourist office to explore the village and the abbey. The Boucle de Cadouin passes places shaped by the dropping of Allied forces during the Second World War, particularly through Operation Percy Pink.

Nature

Maxange Cave contains rare eccentric calcite formations. The cave has a temperature of 13 Â°C all year round and is discovered as part of guided tours.

The Planbuisson Bamboo Garden covers 2 hectares.

Water

Plage du Pont de Vicq at Buisson-de-Cadouin is designated as an unsupervised bathing area on the Dordogne; however, bathing there was prohibited on 19 August 2026 due to elevated cyanotoxin levels.

Bathing at Plage de Vicq was prohibited by a mayoral order dated 19 August 2026 after an ARS investigation found cyanotoxins above the legal limits.
