Borrèze: Holiday apartments and houses

In Borrèze, the Chemin des meuniers – La Borrèze runs between the Borrèze River and Causse landscapes and offers viewpoints. Nature

The Natura 2000 site FR7200676 “Coteaux calcaires de Borrèze” includes the municipality of Borrèze. The Boucle de Borrèze leads across the limestone slopes of Borrèze, a village bordering the Lot. It passes dry-stone walls, a dovecote and a wrought-iron cross amid vegetation typical of the Causse.

Culture

The Church of Saint Martin in Borrèze is a Romanesque church from the 12th century. It has a 25-metre-long single-nave interior with five bays covered by rib vaults, ending in a polygonal apse. The building also includes a square bell tower from the 14th century with a four-sided slate roof.

Borrèze’s small rural heritage includes crosses, ovens and huts built from dry stone. The traditional houses are built of light beige stone and characterised by roofs made of slate from Corrèze and flat tiles from Quercy.

Routes

Stage 4 of the GRP Pays de Fénelon from Borrèze to Cazoulès leaves Borrèze via the D62 and follows the trail markings to the D47.

The BOUCLE VTT 18 – Les moulins de Borrèze is a mountain-bike circuit running through Borrèze. GPX and KML files are available for export to a GPS device or another navigation device. The circuit uses information boards to help visitors discover the village and its mills, and offers a viewpoint over the Salignac forest.

The Randoland-Circuit des Moulins de l’Inval in Borrèze is a discovery tour for children with age-appropriate puzzle sheets for 4–6-, 7–9- and 9–12-year-olds, exploring the area’s historical and natural heritage.
