Bréchaumont: Pilgrimage, Church Construction and Cycling Routes

Bréchaumont combines a traditional pilgrimage with historic religious buildings, a castle ruin, a fort and two cycling routes of different lengths. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bellefontaine is located in the Haute Vie area of the village. A document from 1660 mentions a collection held in Thann to rebuild the pilgrimage site of Notre-Dame “von Brunnon” in Bréchaumont, which was described as famous and miraculous.

Culture and History

Another historical point of interest is the Eglise Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague. Construction began on July 22, 1842, and was completed the following year. A second option is the 34-kilometer gravel route “Circuit Gravel 34 km La Porte d'Alsace”. It leads as far as the exit of Bréchaumont.
