Culture
After Jean Georges Gustave Rothan died in 1890, the estate passed to his son-in-law, Baron Pierre de Coubertin. Only a remnant of the Château du baron Pierre de Coubertin remains. Another special feature is the Fontaine aux dauphins: the fountain is made of pink sandstone and has three basins arranged one above the other.
At the Atelier de saboterie et boissellerie Pauline, wooden boards and wooden shoes are made using machinery from an earlier era and traditional craftsmanship. The workshop offers tours on Thursdays during the school holidays and, outside the school holidays, by appointment.
The Château du Schwartzenberg ruins, Munster Abbey and the Château de Wassenberg ruins are located near Luttenbach-près-Munster. The Château du Petit Hohnack is also located in the surrounding area of Luttenbach-près-Munster.
Nature
The family hike Balade famille en forêt de Luttenbach leads through the Luttenbach forest, passing streams, clearings and viewpoints. It is 4.6 km long, includes 185 metres of elevation gain and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Several mountains are located near Luttenbach-près-Munster: the Sattelkopf, the Taennlekopf, the Heidenruckenkopf and Le Steinberg. The circular trail Tour du Petit Ballon leads to the 1,250-metre-high Petit Ballon and offers panoramic views, as well as views over the Munster and Guebwiller valleys. Remains from the First World War can be discovered along the route.
The Balade famille en forêt de Luttenbach begins on Rue de l’École, to the right of the town hall; parking is available nearby. From Munster, follow the D10 and, before the Luttenbach-près-Munster sign, turn left towards the fermes-auberges and Petit Ballon.
