The route features explanatory information boards and is accessible on foot or by bicycle. The Sonnenglanz parcel is designated as a Grand Cru.
Culture
A Catholic church stood on the site of today’s Saint-Sébastien Protestant Church; it was mentioned in parchment documents dating from around 1300. The Saint-Sébastien Protestant Church visible today was built between 1864 and 1866; its bell was classified as a historic monument in 1916.
The Saint-Martin Catholic Church was built between 1864 and 1866 on the site of a former cemetery. It houses a 17th-century high altar from the former Pairis Abbey. In addition, the organ of Beblenheim’s former simultaneous church was transferred to the new Saint-Martin Catholic Church in 1864.
The townscape is characterised by half-timbered houses: most date from the 18th and 19th centuries, while around twenty half-timbered houses date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The Cave de Beblenheim is located in a 15th-century building and has centuries-old wooden barrels as well as a wine press dating from 1836. Visits to the Cave de Beblenheim are possible by prior reservation.
History
Only a residential building, dated to 1461, remains of the former castle in Beblenheim.
