Culture and History
The Nécropole de tumulus protohistorique is an Early Iron Age necropolis with 55 burial mounds in two groups.
The present-day Saint-Oswald Church in Mussig was built after the 1891 fire and consecrated in 1898. Its choir contains stained-glass windows made in 1948. Its architecture includes a nave divided into five sections and an axially arranged entrance-tower vestibule.
The Château du Schnellenbühl site features a rectangular complex with ditches and a motte. The present-day outbuildings and a chapel date from the late 17th and early 18th centuries. In Mussig, 37 burial mounds have also been recorded.
The Heidenstressel was a Gallo-Roman and Roman route between Basel and Strasbourg that ran through the eastern part of the area.
Landscape
The tumulus group lies about 500 metres west of the village, in meadows by the Illwald. The mountains Le Hahnenberg, Le Schild and Le Dachfirst are located in the vicinity of Mussig.

Every year, Mussig hosts an 8.3 km nighttime gourmet hike with tasting stations offering regional specialties. Tomme du Ried can be sampled at farms in Mussig. The Fête du Céleri takes place every two years at the end of August.
