Lutonina – Nature, History and Trails

The history of Lutonina can be traced back to its first written mention in 1261; it is connected with the founding of the Cistercian monastery of Smilheim in Vizovice. A timber-framed rural building of the type in which living quarters are connected with farm buildings is part of the folk-architecture tradition. Lutonina is also home to the granary of rural homestead No. 34, which is a cultural monument. At the Valašské muzeum v přírodě in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, you can see a replica of the stone part of the village smithy built in Lutonina in 1889.

The Zlín–Valašská Polanka railway line is part of the history of technology: the Baťa company began building it in 1934. The railway project was intended to be extended as far as Púchov. Nature

A 12.2 km moderately difficult route turns towards Lutonina about halfway along and passes through expansive meadows by the Průkopa Nature Monument. This route follows a cycle path along the trackbed of the never-completed Baťa railway.

At the beginning of January, a joint driven hunt took place in Lutonina with the MS Vizovice hunting association. The eighth event also attracted participants from elsewhere and people from various parts of the Czech Republic.
