The cadastral area of Lhotsko at the northern foot of the Klášťovský Ridge

The nature park and the ridge provide the locality with a clearly defined landscape setting. For hikers, practical orientation begins in Lhotsko itself: marked trails lead from here to Vizovice and Luhačovice.

Two trails from Lhotsko

Marked hiking trails lead from Lhotsko to Vizovice and Luhačovice. Both destinations can be included as separate directions in a day plan. The starting point remains Lhotsko, while the destination changes. For a stay with several excursion ideas, this distinction is specific: Vizovice and Luhačovice do not represent the same route, but two separate trails from the village. The marked routes clearly keep the two destinations distinct. For day planning, this means that anyone starting in Lhotsko first chooses Vizovice or Luhačovice as the direction of travel; the starting point remains the same.

From Vizovice to the chapel

Another marked hiking trail leads from Vizovice towards Lhotsko and then uphill to the Chapel of Saint Francis. This route starts in Vizovice, not in Lhotsko. After heading towards Lhotsko, the route climbs to the chapel, so the starting point, course and ascent are all connected. For day planning, this is a different starting situation from the two trails leading from Lhotsko to Vizovice and Luhačovice respectively. On this route, the climb is explicitly part of the trail. Anyone planning the chapel as a destination should allow for the ascent in the later section of the route.

Local history since 1549

Visitors interested in culture will encounter a long-documented local history in Lhotsko: the oldest written mention dates from 1549. During the Thirty Years' War, the village was burned down twice.

Wallachian village tradition

Sheep farming was historically widespread in Lhotsko. Lhotsko is considered a traditional Wallachian linear village. Local monuments include stone crosses. In Lhotsko, visitors interested in culture can therefore find an earlier form of economic activity, a traditional settlement form and stone crosses as local monuments.

Travelling to Lhotsko by bus

Lhotsko is connected with the outside world exclusively by bus; no railway line runs through the village. For travelling by public transport, the bus is therefore the main means of transport. The bus connection is part of the locality, while the marked hiking trails have their own starting points and directions. Anyone choosing the route to the Chapel of Saint Francis should also bear in mind that this trail begins in Vizovice and then leads uphill to the chapel. Those using public transport should therefore plan the journey to and from the area by bus and treat the hiking destinations as a separate part of the day.
