Holiday apartment in Rokytnice: Nature in the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area
Rokytnice lies in the valley of the Rokytenka stream. The location of the village combines protected landscapes, open spaces, seasonal activities and regional events.
Nature
The planning area of Rokytnice is part of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. At the same time, Rokytnice lies on the boundary between the ethnographic regions of South Wallachia and Slovácko. The planning area also includes the European Natura 2000 sites Valentová and Na Koncoch. Thus, the village area combines membership in a large-scale protected landscape with specifically named natural areas.
Valentová comprises alluvial forests along streams, flower-rich beech forests and mesophilic hay meadows, as well as numerous other wet habitats. Na Koncoch is characterised by flower-rich beech forests, meadows, pastures, spring areas and alluvial forests along streams. The two areas therefore represent different combinations of forests, open spaces and wet habitats.
Jasla is an extensive meadow on the boundary between the cadastral areas of Rokytnice and Kochavec. A hunting lodge stands on Jasla, from which Svatý Hostýn, approximately 60 kilometres away, can be seen in good visibility. The meadow, the hunting lodge and the approximate distant view all belong to the same named landscape area.

Culture
The Czech-Slovak gathering at Peňažné takes place at the state border every year on the penultimate Saturday in August together with the partner municipality of Horná Súča. In Rokytnice, a traditional Fašank procession celebration took place in February. Thus, in addition to nature and activities, the local character also includes an annual event near the border and a traditional celebration that took place in February.
