Koryčany: Culture, Traditions and Hiking
Thonet Villa in Koryčany was built in 1896 based on a design by the Vienna-based Fellner & Helmer studio. In March 2023, the Czech Ministry of Culture declared it a cultural monument.
Culture
Koryčany Château is a Baroque château built after 1677. It is not open to the public, but its well-maintained garden can be visited year-round. The château park covers 2.8 hectares.
The parish church in Koryčany, dedicated to Saint Lawrence, is first mentioned in 1350. The church contains a life-size Gothic wooden statue of the Virgin Mary dating from around the end of the 14th century.
The Jewish cemetery in Koryčany contains more than 200 gravestones. The oldest surviving gravestone dates from 1674. In the 1990s, the cemetery was designated a state-protected cultural monument.

Hiking
The “Přechod Chřibů z Koryčan do Osvětiman” hiking route starts at the car service centre in Koryčany and ends in Osvětimany. Including a visit to Cimburk Castle, it is 14 kilometres long and takes five hours.
For the hike, the journey from Kroměříž to Koryčany is made by a bus operated by the Integrated Transport of the Zlín Region (IDZK). Moravanské lúky is located in the vicinity of Koryčany. It is a complex of forest meadows and small forest clearings covering a total area of 8.72 hectares, designated a nature reserve on 28 October 1990.
