Košíky lies in a valley at the foot of the Chřiby Mountains. In the older parts of Košíky, the original settlement layout is still recognizable today. The surrounding area has numerous hiking trails that connect the village with the landscape of its immediate surroundings.

History

Košíky was founded in the mid-17th century by a Count of Rottal as a linear settlement.

Culture

Several sites bring the history and local community life of Košíky into view. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary dates from 1880. In the centre stands a newly restored sculpture of Saint Hubert. At the edge of the forest is the wayside shrine known as Boží muka, dating from 1860. In this way, the village presents different forms of religious and local remembrance, each with its own setting and chronological context.

One specific example is the Zdeňka Sedláčka March. On 21 October 2023, the 8th edition of the march organized by the Czech Tourist Club from Uherské Hradiště took place. The 5.5 km route led from Košíky to Paseky through the Chřiby Mountains. It passes through the Košíkovské skály rock formations and continues to the Pod Smrkovů spring. The starting point, direction, rock formation and spring are thus connected in a named route.

Cycling

A cycling route also passes through Košíky and then climbs to the Paseky signpost. The route connects the road through the village with the subsequent ascent to the named signpost.
