Jeřišno: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Jeřišno is located in the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Železné hory). The landscape of the Železné hory, with its forests, meadows, ponds, fields and small settlements, can be explored along numerous cycle paths and marked hiking trails.

History

The historic Liběcká trade route ran through Jeřišno. The settlement, known as “Ves Zerussna”, was first mentioned in 1406 in connection with Vilémov Monastery and Přibík ze Sázavy; at that time, its location was placed somewhere above Heřmaň.

Culture

The Church of St. Wenceslas stands on a hill in the centre of Jeřišno, on the site of a former cemetery surrounded by a stone wall. At its core, it is Gothic and was later extended and remodelled in the Baroque style. It has been documented since 1350.

In Heřmaň, the vicarage is currently used as a gallery. There is also a preserved memorial to the victims of the First World War. The former school building dates from the 18th century, is considered the oldest school building in the Havlíčkův Brod District and is currently used as residential accommodation. Above Heřmaň, the outline of the foundations of a former wooden fortress can be discerned on a hill.

Local events

The events listed are the Jeřišský Gulášfest on 23 September 2024 and 24 August 2026, as well as the “Vepřové hody” event on 21 January 2025 and 20 January 2026. The public ice-skating event “Jeřišské veřejné bruslení” took place on 4 December 2024 and 10 December 2025.
