Havlíčkova Borová: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Karel Havlíček Borovský Memorial is a national cultural monument. Inside, there is a permanent exhibition about the life and work of Karel Havlíček Borovský. This historical focus is complemented by the Church of St. Vitus and its characteristic surroundings: the grounds include a cemetery enclosed by a stone perimeter wall and a rectangular mortuary built into this wall.

Culture and history

Below the Church of St. Vitus stands a Baroque rectory dating from 1726. In front of one house, there is also a graceful wayside shrine, known as a Boží muka, dating from 1765. The Karla Havlíčka Borovského educational trail was established in October 2022 and begins in the immediate vicinity of his birthplace.

The Poustevníkova studánka spring is associated with a local legend dating back to the early 17th century. Passers-by can use the spring's cold water.

Nature and landscape

In the vicinity of the local mill and brewery, the Borovský potok stream forms graceful meanders. The Borovská jezírka ponds are a protected natural monument. They were formed from flooded shafts of the iron ore mines that operated in the 19th century.

In the immediate surroundings of Havlíčkova Borová lie the extensive forests of the Ransko Massif. They are part of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area and are currently severely affected by a bark beetle infestation. Nearby Ransko has been designated a national nature reserve.

Several mountains are also assigned to the different surroundings of the town: Světka is a mountain in the immediate vicinity of Havlíčkova Borová. Rosička and Vysoká are mountains in the vicinity of Havlíčkova Borová. Žákova hora is a mountain in the wider regional surroundings of Havlíčkova Borová.
