Vysoká Jedle: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The “Z březových hájů přes skály a vodopády na Hasištejn” hiking route begins in the village square of Vysoká Jedle and is 9.5 km long. After a few metres, it leaves the quiet road and turns onto a forest trail, leading through a dense birch grove scattered with numerous boulders. From Vysoká Jedle, situated at an elevation of 650 m, the view extends as far as the Nechranice Reservoir. After leaving the village, the hike crosses the Prunéřovský potok and follows the Kýšovický vodopád waterfall. The hike can be reached by bus via the “Místo, Vysoká Jedle” bus stop.

Nature

The surroundings of Vysoká Jedle also feature a remarkable variety of plant life: rare and protected plants grow in the meadows.

History

Vysoká Jedle was first mentioned in writing in 1367 as part of the Hasištejn estate. Historical names for the village included Hochtann, Hohenthannen and Hohenthan.

In the 19th century, bobbin lacemaking became widespread in Vysoká Jedle. The inhabitants made various braids, grew flax, processed it at home and sold it.

Regular church services are once again held in the restored Chapel of the Virgin Mary. The road from Ahníkov via Místo to Celná, opened in 1898, connected Vysoká Jedle with the outside world.
