Rajov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rájov lies at the foot of the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory), at an elevation of 540 to 600 metres. The yellow-marked Perštejn–Rájov–Mýtinka hiking trail is one of the marked trails that provide access to the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory).

Nature

Rájov is predominantly characterised by scattered buildings used for recreation. An unnamed stream in Rájov belongs to the Ohře catchment area.

The mountains Vysoká seč, Šumná, Planina and Pekelská skalá are located in the vicinity of Rájov.

The area of Perštejn with Rájov belongs to the CHOPAV Krušné hory water protection area and the proposed CHKO Střední Poohří protected landscape area.

History

Rájov was first mentioned in writing in 1431. The chapel of “Trpícího Krista Spasitele” is located in Rájov.

East of Rájov, calcareous dolomite was mined in a quarry and used to produce building lime.

Culture

In the wider regional area around Rájov are the monastery in Ostrov, the former Franciscan monastery in Annaberg-Buchholz and the Church of the Assumption in Cranzahl. The Church of the Redeemer in Bärenstein is located in the vicinity of Rájov.

Orientation

The Vápenice spring is located directly on the right-hand side of the ascending road from Perštejn via Vykmanov to Horní Halže, below a large detached house.
