Jindrichova Ves: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jindřichova Ves combines its own chapel with the history of nail-making and several hiking and cycling routes.

Local History

In 1892, a chapel of its own was built in Jindřichova Ves and dedicated to Our Lady. The chapel in Jindřichova Ves was repaired in 1995. In addition, the façade of St. Anne’s Chapel was repaired and repainted as part of maintenance work.

Jindřichova Ves was founded in 1775, with Count Heinrich von Rottenhan involved in its establishment. Originally, it was a settlement of charcoal burners and forest workers. Historical occupations included stone quarrying and forestry, among others.

The historical nail-making trade was widespread in Jindřichova Ves: almost every second house had a nail forge. The historical nail makers in Jindřichova Ves apparently produced nearly all types of nails, including horseshoe, construction, ship and railway nails.

Hiking

One hiking trail leads through picturesque Jindřichova Ves and then climbs gently to the summit of Kamenná hůrka. The trail’s car park is located near the turn-off to Jindřichova Ves, which ends in a dead end.

Another route follows the blue-marked trail along the edge of the Novodomské rašeliniště National Nature Reserve to Jelení vrch.

A hike around Kalek includes a forest path lined with beech trees leading to Jindřichova Ves and its chapel. A historical route of the ridge trail ran in the sequence Kalek, Načetín and Jindřichova Ves.

Cycling Routes

The “Na věhlasné poutní místo” cycling tour runs via Kalek and Načetín; Jindřichova Ves is mentioned as a district of Načetín.

In the wider regional surroundings of Jindřichova Ves, a cycling tour offers views of Nový rybník, which is considered part of the characteristic landscape of the Ore Mountains.

The Kalecký okruh is suitable for beginners and young people; a large part of the route runs on non-public roads and has no steep climbs.
