The first written mention of Pesvice dates back to 1290.
History
In 1571, Pesvice was one of the 20 villages in which the citizens of Chomutov held a monopoly on beer sales. From the mid-18th century onward, hops were grown in Pesvice.
Culture
In the first half of the 19th century, the Chapel of St. Joseph was built in Pesvice. It is a protected monument and is a single-nave building with a semicircular end and a prismatic bell tower above the entrance.
The wayside shrine “Boží muka” at house no. 70 in Pesvice bears the years 1819 and 1939. It stands behind a fence near main road no. 251.
Activities
Pesvice Airport is still used for recreational and sport flying today. It is located in the cadastral territories of Pesvice and Otvice and serves small motor aircraft, ultralight aircraft, helicopters, and gliders. At Pesvice Airport, the Aeroclub Chomutov offers introductory flights in a CESSNA 172 or an L13 BLANÍK glider. A flight school also operates at Pesvice Airport.
