Lkáň: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lkáň stretches along both banks of the Rosovka stream in the Klapská pahorkatina hills on the southern edge of the Bohemian Central Uplands. Historically, agriculture and fruit growing benefited from the location, the microclimate and the fertile soils. There are two water reservoirs near the Rosovka stream in the built-up area.

Nature and Landscape

The mountains of Košťál, Třešnovka, Kuzov and Jezerka are located around Lkáň. The ruins of Hazmburk, Hrádek, Hradek Oltářík and Sukoslav castles are also in the surrounding area.

History and Culture

Lkáň is first mentioned in a document issued by King Wenceslaus I in 1237. In the 14th century, the village came into the possession of the noble Zajíc family, who were based at the nearby Hazmburk Castle; Lkáň was subsequently incorporated into the Libochovice estate. The niche chapel is the only cultural monument in Lkáň.

Traditional events in Lkáň include the Witches’ Festival, May celebrations, Easter celebrations, a masked carnival, a kite festival, the Three Kings Collection and Christmas celebrations.

Activities

Lkáň is located at a junction of cycle routes 3118 and 3119, which lead to the popular Házmburk Castle. The “Lovosice–Házmburk–Lovosice” cycle circuit also passes through the village. It is approximately 50 km long and follows a moderately difficult route.

Transport Connections

Lkáň has no railway station. The nearest railway stations are located in Dlažkovice or, farther away, in Libochovice. In Lkáň and the surrounding area, there are bus stops served by route 664 between Třebívlice and Lovosice; the buses operate on weekdays.
