Račice-Pístovice: Holiday apartments and houses

Račice is surrounded by comparatively high, densely forested hills. The Rakovecké Valley is used for walks all year round and is a popular area for hiking and cycling tourism.

Nature and trails

The Rakovec educational trail is 7 km long and includes 10 information boards covering the history, geology, flora and fauna of the area. It begins approximately 2 km beyond Račice in the direction of Ruprechtov, at the Jermak Monument. The monument commemorates the landing of a parachute group in 1944.

Culture and townscape

The dominant landmark in the southwestern part of Račice is Račice Castle. The castle building developed from a Gothic castle dating from the mid-13th century into a Renaissance château, which Hanuš Haugvic had rebuilt between 1568 and 1585 and which Baron Mundy altered in the Empire style in the 1830s.

The main palace of Račice Castle is currently being renovated; therefore, all guided tour circuits are temporarily closed and commented tours are not currently taking place.

On the road bridge over the main road near the entrance to Račice stand statues of Saint Florian and Saint Wendelin dating from the mid-18th century. They belong to the High Baroque period and come from the workshop of the renowned Olomouc sculptor J. A. Heinze.

The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary is part of the Račice Castle grounds and can be visited during services or on special occasions announced by the municipality.
