Dolenice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The chapel of the Elevation of the Holy Cross stands on the village square in Dolenice. It is an immovable cultural monument and also an architecturally valuable central octagonal building, constructed between 1717 and 1725. The chapel stands in the elevated southwestern part of the village square; a single-storey rectangular sacristy is attached to it.
Culture and Villagescape
The chapel’s sheet-metal-covered hipped roof carries a four-sided bell tower with an onion dome, finial and double cross. The building was restored from 2016 to 2020. The work included repairing the roof structure, creating a new structure for the top of the tower, installing new roofing, improving structural stability, renewing the plaster and infill panels, and restoring the altar.
The local monuments in Dolenice also include a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. Traditional Hody celebrations take place in Dolenice every year around 12 September.
