Nerestce: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nerestce can be explored through three aspects: nature, historical heritage, and local baking and event traditions.

Nature

The Nerestský lom natural monument encompasses parts of the cadastral areas of Horosedly and Dolní Nerestce. It consists of two larger and several smaller disused limestone quarries. The protected feature of the Nerestský lom natural monument is a disused limestone quarry with rocky and dry grassland vegetation.

Nerestský lom is located approximately 1 km northeast of Dolní Nerestce. By car, access is possible without restrictions to within 250 m of the site.

The natural monument forms part of the “Nerestský lom” Site of European Importance, code CZ0310084. Species-rich communities of animals and plants occur in Nerestský lom, including the Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo), the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus), the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina), and several plant species.

Culture

The bridge with the statues is decorated with Baroque statues of saints from the workshop of J. Hammer, dating from the mid-18th century. The small chateau No. 9 in Dolní Nerestce, together with its associated parts and land, is an immovable cultural monument.

“Strašení” in Nerestce was planned as the 25th edition.

Cuisine

Buchtobraní is a recurring baking event in Nerestce featuring competitions in several categories. At Buchtobraní, Easter specialties such as Mazanec and Easter stuffing, as well as an open category, were the focus. A get-together for the participants was planned to conclude Buchtobraní.
