Lišov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Lišov combines historic sites, signposted trails and bodies of water with an events calendar offering special dates throughout the year. At its heart is the Schwarzenberský špitál: Jan Adolf Schwarzenberg founded it on 2 September 1676 for retired servants of the princely family. Today, the building has rooms for exhibitions, cultural events, lectures and educational programmes.
Culture and History
The Muzeum F. M. Čapka is located in the right wing of the Schwarzenberský špitál. The Muzeum Františka Miroslava Čapka presents traditional Lišov crafts such as carpentry, shoemaking, rope-making and joinery. The Jana Rafaela Schustera Gallery is also located in the Schwarzenberský špitál.
Another notable site is the Kostel sv. Václava church in Lišov. The Neo-Romanesque church was built between 1862 and 1865 and consecrated in 1864 by Bishop J. V. Jirsík. It is accessible year-round and can be visited free of charge.
Locus perennis is another of Lišov’s historical highlights. The site is the only one of the original nine fundamental elevation-measurement points in Austria-Hungary. A car park is available for visitors a few metres from the main road.
Nature and Trails
The signposted, 12-kilometre hiking route “Putování krajem malíře J. R. Schustera na Locus perennis” runs through Lišov. The Lišovská cyklistická trasa is also part of the local trail network; it has a moderate level of physical difficulty and starts at a car park near the Coop in Lišov.
Rybník Koníř pond offers a different perspective on the area: it is used as a swimming lake in summer and can be reached from Lišov via a paved road. The Chapel of Panny Marie Lourdské, consecrated on 5 July 1896, stands near the pond.
Events and Sailing
In the local area around Lišov, three to four sailing competitions of national or regional importance take place every year at Dvořiště pond. The local events calendar also includes the Lišovské slavnosti, held every year on the second weekend in September, and Adventní odpoledne on the first Sunday of Advent.
