Cycling Paths and Tours

The 8 km circular cycling route “Okruh Jestřábí” passes through Bližná. A family can complete it at a leisurely pace in less than 50 minutes.

The “Klidová trasa z Horní Plané na Olšinu” route is signposted and classified as easy. From Plánička, it reaches Bližná via a forest path.

The “Cyklookruh kolem Frymburku” reaches Bližná on signposted cycle route 1022. On its section through Bližná, it runs around Blíženský les and uses two ferries on Lake Lipno. The crossings make the route especially appealing for families with children.

The “To Vítkův Hrádek by Ferry Across Lake Lipno” cycle route passes through Hůrka, Černá v Pošumaví and Bližná to Dolní Vltavice. It is 38 km long and has 480 metres of elevation gain. The route is suitable for trained cyclists as well as families with children who are accustomed to longer tours.

During the warmer months, cyclists visit the Radslav lookout point.

Landscape

The mountains Vítkův Kámen, Bärenstein, Lindový vrch and Špićák are located in the surroundings of Bližná.

Culture and History

Graphite was mined at the Václav shaft in Bližná from 1964 to 1998.

The wider regional surroundings of Bližná include the ancient site of Chlumany, Haslach Parish Church, Schiffler Chapel and the Bühlerkreuz place of worship.
