Nový Kramolín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nový Kramolín combines historical traces with distinctive landscape features and paths through the municipality. Baroque sculptures, evidence of the area’s settlement history and protected natural features come together to create a diverse local landscape.

Culture and History

The late Baroque Holy Trinity sculptural group from 1766 is located in the garden of the Nový Kramolín kindergarten. Its pedestal is made of granite, while the ensemble itself is made of sandstone. At the edge of the village in the direction of Vlkanov, there is also a chapel dedicated to Saint Wenceslas. It was built in the Baroque style in the 18th century and later remodelled in a modern style. The village is also home to a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

The history of the village goes back further: the first written mention of Kramolín dates from 1379, when it was recorded as a deserted village. Until 1786, Nový Kramolín belonged to the Pivoň estate of the Augustinian monastery; afterwards, the municipality came under the rule of Poběžovice. The Valtířov Monument stands on the site of the former village of Valtířov and was built in the 1990s from granite, metal and wood.

Landscape and Nature

Part of the municipal area of Nový Kramolín lies in the Český les Protected Landscape Area and the Český les Nature Park. Distinctive natural features include a rock outcrop with a cross, regarded as a dominant landscape feature of Nový Kramolín, as well as a protected quartz wall in the cadastral area and in the village. A natural pond in Nový Kramolín was renovated in 2008 and equipped with new pools.

Hiking trails run through the western part of the municipal area. Paved paths provide access to the surroundings of Nový Kramolín for short-term recreation. A water reservoir towards Vlkanov is used for swimming.

Paths and Connections

The project for the footpath and cycle path connection between Nový Kramolín and Postřekov was completed on 14 March 2025. The route connects the two municipalities and is intended for pedestrians, cyclists, inline skaters and other users.
