Culture

In the centre of Letkov, the Chapel of St Gothard stands on the village square and has a bell tower. There is also a war memorial on Letkov village square commemorating local victims of the First and Second World Wars. A memorial to aviators deployed during the war stands next to the airport building in Letkov.

Experiences

Aeroklub Plzeň-Letkov offers training to become an ultralight aircraft pilot; practical training takes place in a two-seat WT-9 Dynamic. At Aeroklub Plzeň-Letkov, it is possible to obtain a glider pilot licence from the age of 15. Visitors interested in aviation can visit Aeroklub Plzeň-Letkov and, accompanied by an experienced flight instructor, try flying in one of the aircraft. The acrobatic Radyňský looping is associated with Aeroklub Plzeň-Letkov.

Letkov Airport offers an English-language RADIO service. This can be requested 48 hours in advance and only during the operating hours of the RADIO station. Letkov Airport can be reached on foot from the Letkov bus stop in approximately ten minutes.

Geographical setting

Stradiště Hill [Tymákov] and Háje Hill [Plzeň-Koterov] are located in the immediate vicinity of Letkov. Radyně Mountain is located in the vicinity of Letkov. The „Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral“ church is also located in the surrounding area. The Church of „Svatý Martin“, Berdovna Mountain and the Church of „U Svatého Petra“ are located in the wider regional surroundings.
