Holovousy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Holovousy lies 9 km east of Kralovice and, with its cadastral area, belongs to the Berounka Nature Park. The protected features of this nature park include the landscape of the deeply incised Berounka Valley and its tributaries, rock outcrops, adjacent forest complexes, agriculturally shaped areas, as well as culturally significant landmarks that shape the landscape and historically developed villages of architectural value.

Nature and Landscape

The Berounka Nature Park features a gorge-like river valley with a rocky geological subsoil, diverse soils and clean springs, providing a habitat for numerous rare and protected animal species.

In the vicinity of Holovousy are the Na Chocholouši hill [Hlince], the Hradiště hill [Chříč-Lhota], and the “Nad hřbitovem” hill [Kladruby-Hřešihlavy]. Further afield in the region are Holý vrch mountain and the Valdek ruins.

Culture and History

The original owners of Holovousy were the Lords of Hlohovice. The village chapel in Holovousy contains a bell that probably came from the Church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Chříč.

The surroundings of Holovousy also include the Týřov ruins and the U Svatého Petra and Svatý Martin churches. Four families, comprising a total of 17 people, were recorded in Holovousy.
