The first surviving document about Chotíkov is a Latin charter dated June 25, 1344.
History and Culture
A parish church already existed in Chotíkov in 1352. The Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross was rebuilt between 1834 and 1835 on the site of its predecessor, which had been closed in 1828.
A faithful copy of the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was reinstalled at its original location in Poplužní Dvůr in Chotíkov on July 1, 2026. The Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral church is also located in the vicinity of Chotíkov; the Church of Svatý Martin is located in the wider regional area.
Paths and Nature
The Svatojakubská footbridge in Chotíkov restores the crossing of the heavily trafficked I/20 road for pedestrians and cyclists. It is part of the tourist route Svatojakubská cesta, the Camino de Santiago, which leads to the tomb of Saint James the Elder in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in the Spanish region of Galicia.
The Včelí stezka educational trail begins at the fire station. Through activities, it playfully conveys the importance of bees for nature and for people. The Petrovka protected area attracts visitors for walks and sporting activities.
The Berdovna mountain is located in the vicinity of Chotíkov. In the immediate vicinity are the Stráž hill [Chotíkov] and the (Horní Kyjovský vrch) hill [Plzeň-Malesice]. Mount Radyně is located in the wider regional area around Chotíkov.
