Blovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

At the southeastern edge of Blovice stands the neo-Gothic Hradiště Château on a spur of land bordered by the Úslava and the Komoranský Stream. Its present appearance was created through extensive neo-Gothic reconstruction between 1872 and 1874. As part of this comprehensive redesign, the château park was laid out in the then-modern English style; it also contains a brick bridge with a railing shaped like interconnected tree trunks and branches. Remains of the original Gothic fortress have been preserved in the château’s cellar. The historical cellar exhibition presents the château’s Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Empire development using 3D models, video presentations and archaeological finds.

Cultural and sacred sites

The Baroque Church of St John the Evangelist stands on a terrace above the Úslava and is a protected cultural monument. North of the nave is the Kolowratská burial chapel, an Empire chapel dating from 1833. Another historic site is the Jewish cemetery in Blovice, where 214 gravestones have been preserved.

Nature by the water

The Blovice biotope uses a biological method for water purification without chemical treatment. The water is filtered through lagoons planted with aquatic plants. The biotope also includes a wooden footbridge and a grassy area for sunbathing.

Paths and accessibility

The Museum of Southern Pilsen Region in Blovice is located on the blue KČT hiking route 1413. Blovice can be reached by bus and train.
